Intell Wireless stops working in Vista requiring reboot

Firstly - the dell website doesn't recognise my service tag so I can't request help there.  The laptop is a dell Latitiude D830 running vista by default.  My issue relates to knowledge base article 325621.  In Short my intel wireless card stops working, the WiFi light goes out and I have to reboot to get it to work again.  I have ran through the recommended process in the knowledge base article - changing the advanced settings on the wireless adapter.  This has improved the situation vastly - the card disconnects every hour or less.  It used to disconnect much more frequently.  However, it is still doing it (three reboots this evening).  I have tried tweaking the settings more - i.e dropping the roaming aggressiveness even further.  I installed newer drivers for the wireless card - R152679 but this made no difference..
Does anyone know what other fixes are available for this error?
