PowerVault 100T-DAT72 Firmware Upgrade
I have a PowerEdge 2800 system running SCO Unix 5.0.7 that is backing up nightly to an internal PowerVault 100T-DAT72 tape drive. This drive gives me an tape write error and the cleaning light comes on about every 2 or 3 days.
Apparently this is a firmware issue (as suggested by Dell support) and the download is available here:
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/format.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R216654&ref=sdc_dlsource
I am not sure which package to use and the best procedure for applying this update using SCO Unix. Unix is not listed as a supported operating system.
One would assume that you would download the .tar.gz package and, when uncompressed, apply the Linux version according to the directions. I just want to make sure I am not going to do this incorrectly, as this is a server for our Company wide Point of Sale system.
Does anyone have any experience with this situation or any suggestions?
Thanks
