dividing in Excel

What function do I use to divide in Excel.  For the life of me, I cannot figure this out.

In anticipation of a possible response to my inquiry, it is not possible to convert this into a multiplication function.  To explain, I am dealing with dynamic numbers.  Specifically, I am dealing with grades.  Therefore, if I enter a new grade, both the total earned points increases and the total available points increases.

I'm not following what you're trying to accomplish. Could you provide more info?

Sorry, I probably made it more complex than it actually is.  All I need to do is divide the number in one cell (which is reached at by using a "Sum" function) by the number in another cell (which is also reached at by using a "Sum" function).

    Thanks,

Just use a forward slash / for division. If you use a backward slash \ you get integer division

But what if the numbers are in two different cells, and  I want the result in a third cell?
