Declining Hard Drive Health Problem

I have a Dimension 2300 with a hard drive that a year ago
I thought was gone for good.  I used Scan Disk, Check Disk, and Defragmenter to fix several Energy Star error screens at boot.  Now the only problem is (and has been for the last 10 months) the Seek Error Rate flits from
200 to 100 and back to 200.  The frequency of this change
is greater during an Antivirus scan or Trojan scan.  I use
the HDDHealth SMART monitoring program all the time and it
pops up an attribute change when the Seek Error rate changes.  When the computer is used without a scan going on it flits 200 to 100 (or 100 to 200) about every 15 to 30 minutes and when a Virus or Trojan scan is being done about every 5 to 10 minutes.  The T.E.C. date is about 4
years away when the Seek Error rate is 200 and about one
year away when the Seek Error rate is 100 (all other attributes are optimal or nearly so). Should I look into
getting a new Hard Drive now or is this tolerablanomolous
Hard Drive behavior?
