Second HDD not being seen by system
I have a Dell Inspiron 531 Running Vista Home Premium. The system came with a 250 Gig HDD, which I decided to replace with a 500 Gig drive. I installed the new drive and OS with no problem, and decided to move the 250 Gig one to the lower bay and use as a second drive for the additional capacity it would give me.
The system flat out refuses to recognize the fact that the second drive exists. It doesn't show anywhere under Windows, and when I enter the Set-up utility by pressing F2 during boot-up the SATA 0 slot shows my new HDD, SATA 1 shows my DVD drive, SATA 2 and 3 both show empty. Additionally, all the SATA entries are grayed out and cannot even be selected to make any changes. F12 also doesn't show it as available as a boot device.
It appears I'm out of my depthe here, and any advice would be appreciated.
Thanx,
Buddha
