Ok to make this as short as possible:

 

1.  Computer got a virus

2.  I followed nortons suggestions at this link http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/trojan.lodear.c.html

3.  During process Hal.dll became corrupted

4.  Computer would not boot, hung on hal.dll

5.  Used recovery console to install new hal.dll from the restore cd

6.  Computer hangs on normal start up at agp440.sys

7. I followed microsoft suggestion at this link http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;324764&spid=1173&sid=156

8. computer will boot in normal mode but does not use the correct video card drivers

9. I tried to reinstall video drivers via dell file 66756.exe, It will not let me install the file because it can not see a video card

10.  I did install dell file r50830.exe hoping that updating chipset file would fix the problem.

11.  all this does is allow the machine to find the video card again but as soon as it does the computer hangs to a black frozen screen. so back to step 7

12. I thought maybe it is a bios problem so I download  dell file i5100a32.exe  I can not flash the bios it says I have to have the battery installed and the charger plugged in, which I do have plugged in and installed.

13. I installed dell file 107879.exe, the crash analysis tool say there is a problem with tfsnifs.sys, so I download and install dell r71235.exe but this does not seem to have fixed the tfsnifs.sys file problem as far as the crash analysis tool is concerned.

 

What it boils down to is how can I get this thing working correctly again?
