I requested a battery replacement for an XPS 17. I was asked via emailif I wanted a quote for a new battery. I said yes and the battery that 
was replaced was a reconditioned one. Tech support claims these are Dell's terms.
Furthermore, using the command 
powercfg /batteryreport /output "C:\battery_report.html" 
you find that, before the replacement, for about two months, 
the battery was at a "Full Charge Capacity" below 30% of the "Design Capacity".
Despite repeated emails, no one has ever responded to my concern about this 
charging capacity status and therefore, on the quality of the 
battery that was replaced.
