Go to SolutionReinstalling Windows on old Inspiron
Hi,
I have a Dell Inspiron from 2007 which has Windows 7.
Probably its because of the age, but my laptop is quite slow these days. Before I completely throw away the laptop, I wanted to see if reinstalling Windows7 would help things any better.
When I tried to get a Windows7 installation ISO, Microsoft asked for a 25 character product key, but mine is just 20 characters.
I had bought the laptop while in India, but I am now in the US. I believe this does not affect the validity of my Product Key.
These are my queries :
1. Any chance my Product Key has expired? Is it even possible?
2. Is it possible to do a Win7 installation if I only have the 20 character Product Key. I am not planning to pay anything more to do a fresh install.
3. Would it make sense to attempt a Win10 installation?
