Issue on CPU Speed
Hi, i'm having a problem regarding the cpu speed displayed. i have an Inspiron 8500 2.2Ghz, but the processor speed displayed in the system information is only 1.2Ghz. i'm aware of the speedstep technology thing but all this while i've been running on AC, not batteries. tried using the speedswitchxp program, it states my max CPU speed is also only ~1200 Mhz. jz wondering what's wrong, or is there sumthing i have to do? In the bios it states pentium4-m 2.20Ghz / 1.20 Ghz, current processor speed : 1.2Ghz ; ...can someone help me out? it doesnt bother me that speedstep reduces the CPU speed but i'm just concerned of the maximum speed my processor actually possesses, 2.2 or 1.2
