I want to upgrade my laptop with 2 Samsung 980 SSD, but I do want to keep the 512GB which comes with the device. So if the original SSD occupies the smaller M.2 2230, I can put the 2 Samsung SSDs in the 2 M.2 2280. In case the original SSD occupies M.2 2280, I can only put 1 Samsung SSD in the M.2 2280 and search for a small SSD to use in the smaller M.2 2230.
