AIO 5490 wifi
Hello:
I am first time poster here. I am about at my wits end. Brief description below
1) Bought this computer last January. Right out of the box I had issues. The wifi connection would disconnect and not reconnect whenever the computer went to "sleep". Of course I didn't know it initially so I had already spent 3 hours transferring files. I spent over 4 hours with tech support who couldn't fix it and determited I was going to return it but I went to he intel website and downloaded the latest intel (non-dell) wifi driver and low and behold issue was fixed.
However this computer has always had a slow connection. My iphone and/or laptop can be in the same room and pull 220mbps but it will always be in the 60-90 range. I figure dell must use some really wifi hardware.
2) about 2 weeks ago it started happening again. No updates to the computer other than possible windows updates so I went to the intel using the "Intel Driver and support" utility and downloaded the latest update on NOV 30th. This seemed to fix the problem but over the next few days I noted the wifi seemed to be very slow. So I used the dell update utility and it recommended downloading a now newer dell wifi driver as well as a few dell support applications updates and a bios update. They were all updated without issue.
Now the real problem: I am now using all the Dell recommended drivers and my wifi on this AIO has full signal but speed will range from 15-60, mostly around 25 while every other device I have can be in the 200-225 range.
Any ideas?
- Beau
