I have an 18 month old Inspiron 530. My son-in-law has similiar Inspiron at 6 months old. He recently downloaded and attempted to install a BIOS update from Dell's update/download centre. Whilst updating the bios his PC crashed and to cut a long story short the pc was returned to Dell. They repaired it at no cost to him.

My questions are - as my pc is outside its warranty period so should I update my bios or should I leave it alone?
