Ongoing 7537 hinge disaster

As i've read here and many other places on the internet, there is a clear design issue with the hinges coming apart from either the main unit or the screen.   Of course Dell are denying anything and are refusing to help but this is nothing new.

So my question is a general one to the decent people out there with experience who are good enough to share their experiences, again, obviously not Dell.

My question is:  is there a glue that can satisfactorily bond the metal hinges with the black PC+ABS plastic, that would solve the problem?

i'm out of warranty and I've tried shopping around for a replacement lid but they're all 50€-100€, and Dell are clearly trying to make money on their awfully designed laptop by selling them for many times that price.

If anyone has any suggestions i'd be very grateful, thanks

Welcome to the Dell Community  @fiachrafiachra

This is an industry wide defect.

HP is another with many defects that are as you describe.

I have tried using a soldering iron to melt plastic around the "Gnarled"  brass nut.

I have tried different glues and epoxies.

All have worked "Too different degrees" but only on a temporary basis.

The real key is what the manufacturers Exchange/Repair policy is???

Maybe @DELL-Cares  can inform us of what Dell's policy is???

    Best regards and good luck,

    U2
