Go to SolutionNew x51 framerate issues
Hi there,
Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated, and let me begin this with the fact that i am completely computer illiterate, sorry. So i got my x51 on 1/10/14, and it was fine up until a few days ago - i tried connecting my 2nd hdmi port to my tv to act as a secondary monitor. Had a little trouble getting the hdmi cable in, so i moved the desktop a little to get a better angle. when i looked back at the screen, the computer was shutting it self down. It restarted, and ever since than i have been getting absolutely terrible framerates. I noticed it first when trying to watch netflix on my tv (again, acting as 2nd monitor) and playing a game at same time, i was noticing horrific framerate issues, so i thought maybe it was having those both open at same time (although comp should be strong enough to handle). I then closed down netflix, but noticed no difference in wow, or any other game i have played, or watching videos on youtube, etc. - they all have bad framerates. Ive disconnected the extra hdmi cable, switched em, downloaded drivers, switched monitors, redownloaded the games, done a factory reset, etc, ive done everything to try and fix this problem that i could think of (For example, when i play wow, while a few days ago i was getting about 50-60 fps on High settings, im now lucky to see about 25-30 on the lowest settings. While i thought maybe it was just the game, its the same on every other game, even netflix/youtube, and nothing has worked). I tried running the alienautopsy which always seems to go to a black screen with a loading circle and freezes there basically when it gets to the graphics portion of the test (i believe its during the intel hd 4400 tests, but not sure exactly which one) and have had to restart my computer as i had the test on while i slept and a woke to the same screen.
Sorry if thats a lot, just trying to get as much info out to try and help. Im running an intel hd 4400 and an nvidia geforce gtx 645 1 gb graphics card. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1cocUxUoQBMyA3x2CTNjgEJJ58otCe617s0TMr5K7lq0/edit
(link is my dxdiag).
Again, thank you to whoever is able to help, and i truly hope im able to fix with out shipping in as i do work from my computer, so it is needed to be here.
