Old M17X Upgrade Question

Hello Dell,

I'm trying to find out if I can upgrade my old M17x to a new processor. I ran a hardware report on the laptop and it is pasted below. I'm trying to find out if I can just upgrade its processor to perhaps one of the sandybride i-7's. I dont really use the machine for gaming but rather rendering 3d animations.

 
I was considering selling it on ebay and just buying a new machine. Anyone care to guesstimate what they would sell a machine like this for? Upgrading is ideal but I need to find out if its even possible. If an I-7 is not possible, what would be this machines max processor upgrade option?
