Power down
I like to shut down my pc at the power surge protector. And not at the pc start/stop switch. That way when I power up, the pc starts up.. I have always thought this is best for lighting protection and for the pc.
At the present... I go to start, shutdown and then shut off the surge protector after the pc shuts down. But when I power on at the surge protector the light on the pc flashes but doesn't start. I then have to press start/shutdown switch on the pc.. this way the pc is getting an extra sure of power that's unnecessary.
I had my IBM Aptiva with Win 95 set up to do that. Any one know how I can do the same with my Dell running Win XP.
