I recently acquired a 1735 studio laptop. It would not charge correctly. I got a new battery for it and have tried several chargers. When the battery is in it will not charge, but the bios does detect the battery correctly. When the battery is out and the charger is plugged in, it will power the laptop. In the bios it will say a power adapter is "not detected". It will not charge the battery. My question is, is it likely a motherboard issue or a i/o board  (where the power jack is located) issue. I can get an oem I/O board for $15 but don't really think its worth it to replace the whole motherboard.
