Hi

I have a simple wireless setup with the main desktop computer linked via cable (ethernet) to a wireless base station (which is linked via ethernet cable to the external cable modem) and a laptop linked to the wireless base station via a wireless network adapter.  I use the Microsoft 802.11b.  I use it primarily fot internet access for my laptop which is about 80 feet away.  I find the internet connection seems much faster from the main computer.  The main is a much faster machine a new 8300, 2.8 with with 512 mb on windows XP Pro.  The laptop is a Pentium III 866 with 256 mb on XP PRO.

Questions:

1.  Would switching to a 802.11g wireless network, set up the same way, speed up the internet connection on the laptop.  I've heard that Bradband is slower than even 802.11b.

2.  Would it speed up linkage to my Printer and File share.  I only have the printer set up for sharing but may include files and folders?

3.  If I decided to go wireless on both the main desktop and laptop via a wireless base station using say a 802.11g system with wireless adapters on both the desktop and laptop how would that affect my internet connection speed on my desktop?

I'm sure this is a basic question that has been answered somewhere but I couldn't find it.
