I just bought a brand new Dimension 8400.  I was networking 2 computers succesfully, now I am having an issue with this new one. 

 

Router: Linksys (for broadband, ethernet/cable/dsl/firewall) Model # BEFSX41

 

This has the Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx gigbit ....

 

I go directly from my cable modem > computer tower = Internet access

 

I go from the cable modem > router > tower = Nothing

 

I see some programs on here that say "Modem on Hold & Modem Helper", not sure if these could be causing some issues, I have no idea what they are for.

 

Every time I try to go through a connection wizard, I am always being asked for dial-up info???

 

Sorry about my vague post, but if anybody has any insight, I appreciate it.
