Processor Upgrade Considerations For Dell Optixplex 7010 MT vs. New Computer
Hi I currently have a refurbished Dell Optiplex 7010 MT with an Intel Core i5-3570 3.40 GHz, with 16 Mb of Crucial RAM and a new low-end ($50 - $100-?) graphics card soon to be installed. I was wondering if there would be an positive cost vs performance benefit in trying to invest to extend this computer's life useage in keeping it workable with future changing technologies before it would be obsolete by upgrading it's i5-3570 3.40 GHz processor, versus and having to buy another computer down the road sometime.
Any thoughts on this from anyone-? Since I am not a computer techie, I don't know how many years my current Dell has left in the technology usage sphere, and also if it's a worthwhile benefit to upgrade processors, if so what processor (or processors) would anyone recommend (and their approx cost's versus the number of possible additional anticipated technology usage years I might be able to see from it (them) on this existing Dell computer)-?
Thanks for your thoughts and replies back on this, appreciate them.
David
