Precision T5820 GPU Options

I've just purchased a T5820 FlexBay workstation with a 950w PSU and the stock WX2100 GPU. I'd like to upgrade the GPU to something a little meatier and looking at either the Nvidia RTX A5000 or A4000 - the bulk of the usage is for photogrammetry using both Pix4d and Metashape Pro.

I see that a new system can be configured with these cards so assume they fit, but can these be dropped straight in to replace the existing card, or are there additional cables/adapters required.

Thanks

I would check out your Service Manual, there should be information there on changing out GPU

To get this information you need to log on to support, enter your model number, and most importantly Enter your Service Tag Number.

That will open all the hardware information on your Particular notebook, You should download and read your Service Manual there you will find out how to open your workstation and make repairs, replace parts, and other set up options, Compare the connection on the card you want to install as compared to what cables you have. Mostly with GPU, some use more power supply than the PCIe Buss can supply  so will have more power cables connected
