UNSOLVED
I have 3 problems w/ computer, please help, anyone
Ok I am experiencing 3 problems, I have already confirmed that i picked up some spyware and have already ran ad-aware and spyweeper numerous times, but i still cannot fix.
1) My aol program will not work. It brings me to the screen name screen and then freezes and I eventually have to end task b/c it won't respond. Have already tried aol restore, running the spy programs and even deleting the program completely and re-installing and still nothing. Have called aol and thats all they told me to do.
2) Internet explorer will not go to some websites. One for example is mtv.com. It just freezes and I eventually have to end task.
3) A search bar has appeared on the bottom of my windows desktop called desktop search. I don't want it there and the spyprograms will not remove it. I have found the folder (that was hidden in the c-drive) and I cannot delete the folder or the application from the computer. I don't want it starting when windows starts (it is called desktop.exe).
I am also getting random popups that were never there before. Let me say that the PC was running perfectly and i mean perfectly up until last week. I would appreciate any help before i just reinstall windows. I cannot get through to anyone at dell either. This seems to be my last option. I appreciate any help.

Also I am running XP with SP2. I switched to cable modem about 2 months ago and was experiencing similar problems but I ran the ad-aware and installed the SP2 and I was working perfectly clear. I have tried reinstalling the SP2 again, but nothing. System restore will not work either. Im not a beginner but also not a expert, but I havAlso I am running XP with SP2.
