SPN mismatch help
Several times a day, ViPR reports this issue with my VNX:
Message: SPN mismatch for the server ' is possible.'
I have opened a case with support, but they have been less than helpful. In their words:
"--> Use the server_cifs command with the -setspn option to list the SPNs for the specified server, then use the command to add or delete SPNs until there is no longer a mismatch. If the mismatch is expected, the cifs.spnCheck parameter should be used to disable the mismatch direction and event logging."
Mmmm-kay? So I used the command to list the SPN's, and I don't know how to tell which one is causing the problem. I don't see anything uniquely identifying in the SPNs. I don't know if this is "expected." I don't know which one(s) to delete to fix the problem.
The only KB document I can find on it is titled "What is the server_cifs setspn feature?" (317591) but it never actually says what it is. The article just details the command line options, and goes through a hypothetical situation that does not apply to my situation.
