Ecco Lite v.2 - very old software - new conflict
For ten years I have been using Ecco lite v.2 by Arabesque Software, Inc. (now defunct company) - mostly to record a daily journal. After I switched to WinXP Pro I merely installed the Ecco lite from diskettes, transferred my journal data files to the new hardrive and I was back in business with no problems. That was two months ago. Today that same software began to act up. When I add data to my daily journal all is fine until I attempt to save and close the software. At that point I now get a new message "Unable to write to disk - check disk space". The only way I can then close the software is to use control-alt.-delete keys and then select "end task" in Windows Task Manager. When I re-open Ecco, whatever I had just typed into the journal was not saved.
I have uninstalled the program, re-installed but the problem persists. I have used the software compatability wizard in XP with no better luck. What's confusing is that it all worked on XP up until today and I have done nothing recently that should have effected Ecco operation. Does anyone have any suggestions?
