Hello,

I am trying to add the option to boot to Windows XP Safe Mode to my boot menue, so when i start up i have the choice of Windows XP Media Centre and Windows XP Safe Mode (on my Dell Dimension 9150).

I have followed numerous guides on the internet and have changed my boot.ini file to this...

But when i reboot nothing happens? I have tried a few things, removing fastdetect from the top one (what does this do by the way?!), changing timeout etc., but nothing seems to happen and it boots straight away to Windows XP Media Center. Any ideas?

Also, is this editing the MBR (and making the Dell CTRL + F11 feature not work?)
What happens if i ruin my boot.ini and cant boot? I have a copy of it on floppy disk, how would i restore this?
