Remote Desktop behind a router
Hi - I've got XP Pro running on a Dell 4600. I've got the Remote Desktop enabled on my desktop and have loaded the Remote Desktop application on my laptop. I can connect when I'm home, within my LAN BUT when I go outside and try to get in through my Netgear wireless router I get a message that "The client could not connect to the remote computer" I've done a little research and it appears I'll need to have port 3389 "forward" any request and possibly create a virtual server on my PC since the IP address is dynamic. Before I head off into this is there something I'm missing or do I have to go through all the port forwarding, virtual server tasks?
Any help and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
