This is a newer computer E510, MCE 2005.  The computer seems to turn itself on in the middle of the night, all by itself.  It is actually kind of creepy when it does.  It happens when it is in Standby Mode.  It seems to be a valid issue, according to the Knowledge Base over at Microsoft.  But, they don't state fixes (as they normally would) and then direct me to Dell Support.

 

So, my question is...since I bought this from Dell, does that mean I have to pay Software Support to fix all valid errors/bugs with the software?  It is odd, because with all my other computers, I usually could get fixes for free, straight from Microsoft's Knowledge Base.

 

Has anyone had experience with Dell Software Support for O/S software bugs/errors?

 

Has anyone experienced the unexpected startup when in standby mode?  Know of any fixes?
