Why Dell Why?
First off I have purchased 6 dells in the past for myself and am now the proud owner of a new fully loaded Dell 9100... I have personally told over 30 computer owners to buy a dell and upon my recommendation did..
After paying over $1,000 for a computer, I get my computer out of the box.. Flash the bios, put 6 partitions on my hard drive, Open the software box and behold I get a stupid piece of paper saying that the "customer" doesn’t need CD's anymore? Funny since I paid for them.... I have a few problems with this
First off, Do not assume what we as a consumer wants or needs.. I have been a network admin for over 10 years. and your systems out of the box uses 9gig of space, uses roughly 35% of memory resources, and consistently pegs the processor at around 5%.... Now for most consumers this is total fine because 99% of people have no clue what I am talking about... But for me this makes me ill..
Second, I paid for my license for the Microsoft operating system and I demand that it be sent with the computer.. Why should I have to pay for the cost of a burnable cd to make one at my house using recovery console that I don’t even have due to flashing my bios? What if I had not purchased a cd burner, and what if I cant afford a CD?
This is the most disgraceful, devious, and pitiful thing I have ever seen in my life... I am sitting at my house with a computer costing over $1000 dollars and I have no OS CD to reinstall it?
BE WARNED about calling customer service for the CD you already Paid For! After talking to 3 different departments, being on hold for a total of 4 hours... I finally got someone in the customer care department, but I have to pay a FEE to talk to a tech, and then maybe its possible for them to send me for the Operating System I paid for???
If you refer to the license agreement, or any dell contract that you signed there is NO verbiage about them selling you the license's for software and operating systems but not PROVIDING you with the CD's that you paid for.
I know I sound like a broken record but for the few people who actually know about computers this is just unbelievable.
So instead of Dell just sending me the CD's that I already paid for I am going to have to return my system to DELL at their own expense.. So Dell you lose over $1000, $400.00 in shipping and handling costs... And the future sales of all my referrals... Each year I would estimate through clients that I probably get you well over $40,000 in computer sales..
Trying to get someone at DELL to send me something that I paid for is about impossible. Great Customer Service!
