Hi, I will try installing the updates as mentioned and will post how it goes. And yes, my boyfriend also has an XPS 15 (same specs) and has the exact same problem.

Hi Sakuramei,

Have you checked the LCD resolution with another XPS 15?

I recommend you to do a BIOS update as well as video drivers update.

  1. Visit the following website: www.dell.com/.../ProductSelector
  2. Enter the Service tag of the computer in the box provided and click “Submit”.
  3.  In the next page, click drop down arrow to select the Operating System which is installed in the computer.
  4.  Under category BIOS, click “Download File” and save the file on desktop.
  5.  Ensure to connect the AC Adapter to the computer, run the BIOS file.
  6.  Follow the on-screen instructions to update the BIOS.
  7.  Restart the computer when prompted.
  8.  Download and save the video drivers, both nVidia as well as the Intel HD Graphics using the above link.
  9.  Click “Start”, type “Device Manager” and press enter.
  10.  In the “Device Manager” window, click the plus sign next to “Display Adapters” to expand it.
  11.  Under “Display Adapters”, right click “Intel HD Graphics”, click “Uninstall”.
  12.  Check the box “Delete driver software for this device”, click ok and follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall the Intel HD Graphics driver.
  13.  Restart the computer.
  14.  Open “Device Manager” using Step 9. Repeat step 10 too.
  15.  Under “Display Adapters”, right click the nVidia graphics driver, click “Uninstall”.
  16.  Check the box “Delete driver software for this device”, click ok and follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall the nVidia Graphics driver.
  17.  Restart the computer.
  18.  Run the previously downloaded Intel HD Graphics driver file, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
  19.  Restart the computer.
  20.  Run the previously downloaded nVidia Graphics driver file, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
  21.  Restart the computer.

If the issue persists, provide me with the complete system model.
