Vostro 1000 wireless issues

What operating system are you using?  Windows Vista has the option not to automatically connect to a given wireless network.  you can change this.

Control Panel \ Manage Wireless Networks and double click on your saved network and thumb through the properties.

also, is your network encrypted?  if not, i'm thinking vista is less likley to connect automatically.  I vaguley remember dealing with that

do you know how to logon to your wireless router?

usually its by typing:
or

the SSID is the "name" of the network.  it should be in there under a wireless config page

I'm still thinking operating system profile issue.  if you change the ssid on your network it will "force" your computers to create a new wireless profile, ensuring a clean slate for all
