Hello, does anybody know what GPUs can fit in an Aurora R8 chassis?
I'm currently trying to buy a used GPU temporarily, until the market calms down, but, I don't know what can fit in the case and what is compatible with the motherboard.
I've tried a EVGA GTX 770 and the case has issues closing completely, after getting it to close, with a little force, I ran into blue screens (dpc watchdog violation) and the computer gray screening, as well as just shutting down without any error message.
I replaced the PSU, thinking that was the issue, with a EVGA G5 750W but, the blue screens still occur, so I'm unsure if the GPU is faulty or if it's just incompatible with my motherboard.
The thing is video cards are currently really expensive and difficult to get, so it might make more sense to just buy a complete new machine rather than upgrading your current rig.
Also be careful with used GPU's, as most have been used for crypto mining and that often causes a lot of stress on the video card and fans. There might be limited life left on a second hand GPU.
A brand new Alienware machine with a GTX 1650 is around $1,000 USD. Just something to keep in mind when hunting for a video card upgrade and take into account when purchasing a second hand or new GPU.
