I'm getting this message when I check properties on the SoundMax Integrated Audio on a Dim 8300.  Other audio programs simply say "there is no audio device installed".  Could this be a software problem or would a reinstall of the drivers possibly correct the problem.

 

This isn't my machine so I can't be sure what has been added since the sound last worked.  The only thing my friend remembers removing was Viewpoint Media.

 

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
