GX280: Cannot run PL/SQL Developer (and it has to be a hardware issue)

Dear friends,

I have here at my company six Dell GX280 machines running XP Home in english (configuration below). They all have the PLSQL Developer tool (www.allroundautomations.com) installed, and all six have problems running it. Sometimes they hang on startup, which apparently can be "fixed" by disabling hyperthreading. Still, then hang up during operation, generally when a trivial operation like retrieving some code from the Oracle Database is executed. I have been in contact with allroundautomations for some time (link below), with no progress at all. I am pretty sure it is hardware related because I have tried three different operating systems (XP Home / XP Pro / Win 2000) and the result is always the same. Moreover, every other machine in the company is running the same version of the same SW without any problems. I really do not know what else to do, so if anybody has an idea, please share it.

TIA,
Marcus Rangel
