Add Disc Space - Inside or Out?
Hi All:
I have an almost 4 year old Inspiron 6000 which continues to serve my modest needs well. The only issue I face is the limited amount of hard drive space (40GB) which is ever dwindling due to photo and music file storage.
I figure I have 2 options if I limit myself to keeping the Inspiron:
- Replace the hard drive with the higher capacity 80GB Dell drive or
- Use external storage with virtually unlimited capacity
I’m not a PC hobbyist so I don’t relish the thought of eviscerating my notebook to do a drive swap. Plus, I feel I would struggle in transferring all the programs and MS software from the old drive to the new.
Certainly I could move the photo and music files to an external high capacity drive but how well does this work with iTunes for example when I want to resynch playlists to my iPod or download new photo files?
Any guidance would be appreciated!
Steve
