Speaker Problem

Hi all and thanks for reading...

I just have got my nice new studio 15 and love it but seem to be experiencing so problems with sound.  Looking at the side of the laptop you see a LAN connector then a mic followed by two headphone sockets. When I put my headphones into the socket closest to the SD card reader I can hear sound and music perfectly. When I unplug the headphones music is then played through the laptop speakers, nothing unusual there. The problem comes if I use the headphone socket located in the middle sound can come from the speakers as normal and when I plug my headphones in I can hear through them as normal. But when I then unplug the headphones I get nothing from the laptop speakers. If I plug the headphones back in I can hear music but when out I can’t hear anything from the laptop speakers. This is until I plug the headphones back into the socket closest to the SD card reader (The one that works as normal). Once in there I hear music through the headphones and when I unplug it comes back out of the laptop speakers. Thus solving my problem.  Is this a normal qwerk? As this is a new laptop I am concerned as it does instil confidence in me about the hardware.

Thanks Laura

It would appear a lot of people are having problems with sound on the sudio 15's. I my self can not get any sound but yet they work fine when I run a test. Think i will call the tomorrow.
