One other thing I thought of. In your mouse setup, do you have the ability to set up your buttons that if both are pushed, it simulates the middle button click? If you do, you could set this to "None" and see if it fixes your problem.
It sounds like the mouse buttons are going bad. If you do not use them, then you can turn them off in your control panel. This may help. If not, you will need to get a new palmrest assembly (it contains the touchpad and buttons).
When I went into the control panel to check on the settings, the two mouse click was set to "Auto Scroll", after setting it to "None" everything seems to be okay. No STOP errors.
I was also dual booting with linux, and never had that problem on that end, so I figured it had to be a software glitch in windows.
