NO I doubt it. All external drives should have there own power supply. Dell notebook USB ports usually don't have enough power on the USB port to power one let alone 2 external drives.
If I purchase a PCMCIA card, is it likely allow me to attach 2 external drives simultaneously, which is the problem I am trying to overcome? So far a USB hub with its own power source which is attached to the single USB port cannot provide enough power for the 2 drives - I get an error message about a surge on the hub.
