Dell guarantees batteries for one year. Yours is probably dead. Also, it is good to do a complete cycle with your LION battery at least once a month...let it run down and then recharge it.
I've had my 600m for about nine months now and the battery just stopped working all of a sudden about three hours ago. Now the device status indicator light blinks orange and the battery meter is stuck at 0% and "charging". It can still draw power from the adapter and outlet though. I assume the battery is still under warranty and eventually I can get a replacement battery.
I read a little bit in the forums though, and I'm wondering if this has to do with the bios at all? Will flashing the bios save me from having to get a new battery? Or is the risk too great?

How do I go about getting a new one. I can't seem to them on the Dell Web Site. Could you help direct to where I need to go.
Thanks

No and Yes. Contact Customer Service and request a replacement since it is under warranty.
