I mean....I don't have a 51x....but I'm beginning to wonder....does anybody have one that DOES work? All I see here in the forums is about the probs....let's hear from somebodies who have good experiences.
RR, as far as good stories have gone my 5100 has been great. Considering the price, this thing has been perfect. One motherboard replaced under complete care (along with a ton of other stuff) but I can't really blame dell for that glass of water on the keyboard ;-)
Well this forum is basically designed for people that do have problems to ask for help with them. I dont think many people will go out of theyre way looking for a forum (if they even know what one is) to post about how great their laptop is. Although i agree completely it would be nice to see people talk about how good a laptop is.
I have a 5100 bought in march that has given me no problems at all.
No overheating issues at all, and i just started blowing through the back vent and not a lot of change in temperature which means there wasnt a lot of dust.
I also just bought a 5160 and altough its been with me a short time i dont see no problems with it
i bought my 5150 in 7/03. it just died and is on its way to dell for repair. it worked great up until about 2 weeks ago, then had random shut down issues, until it just wouldn't start one day.

Actually runs better than it ever has. We will see if the power adapters will last -- have had two replaced by Dell. My 5150 is almost 17 months old.
