Need a final answer on 5160 Video upgrade ASAP...

Question

Hi guys I have contacted dell and they have no go 5200's in stock and they told me its not a 5200 but a geforce 5150 go. Uhhh what i had never heard of that. I need a 100% correct answer, can i use ANY geforce go fx 5200? I was going to buy a geforce go 5200 64mb on ebay but it says it only fits 8500/8600 and some of the M series. Will this one fit in my 5160 or is my only option to buy a special 5200 64mb from dell that only fits in my laptop. Also can i buy ANY 9000 mobility to put into my laptop or does it also have to be one specific to the laptop?  I am getting frustrated as i dont have alot of time to get this ordered as it might be very soon that i will be deployed to Iraq and i need this laptop up and running right before then. I just need a strait answer. Thank you.

I think that your laptop has a specific video slot, and not just any card will fit.

be best to just call up dell spare parts and ask for a 5200 for a 5160. the 5200 for the 51xx series is built in a certain form factor so that only a certain shaped video card will work. you might be able to find a 51xx form factor 5200 on ebay but it all pertains to luck.

no card for the 8x00 will work.  the ati9000 for the 5150 may also not work as ati cards were never released on the 5160.
