I hooked up this lcd screen to a different desktkop machine and I'm still seeing the flicker. So I'm sure now that the source of the problem is the LCD. I'm going to contact Dell for a replacement.
I tried using a regular corded keyboard and mouse and I'm still experiencing the random black screen flickers. So the wireless isn't the problem. Any ideas?
Does anyone have a direct phone number or extension to the DELL LCD technical support department? Thanks.
I've called 1-800-915-3355 twice and the phone options keeps leading me to the Dell Dimension group. The first time I called I was being transferred but then the phone disconnected. Now I'm waiting 20 minutes again for them to pick up and then transfer me. Dell's support is the worst I've experienced.
The problem involves the monitor and its interaction with the DVI cable and the EDID (extended identification [or something]) info. You can search these forums. Try what I did-replace the DVI cable with an analog cable. Problem solved.
Yes, the DVI should work, but it doesn't. I should be married to Faith Hill, but I'm not :(
I have the same problem. My vid card is a Radeon 9100.
The problem is not present with the d-sub connexion.
It not present also when using native XP VGA & Default monitor driver.
I tried Catalyst V4&5 and Omega driver at different refresh rate and resolution...
Did you fix your problem?
Maybe it`s a monitor driver issue!?!?
UPDATE.: Finally I tried with the Plug&play XP monitor driver and the problem is still there...

And display quality (especially text) potentially lost, not to mention the ability to connect two computers to the monitor.

I hope you didn't pay anything to marry Faith Hill. :)
The black screen flicker still happens. Yes, I am using the DVI when the problem occurs. Even if I could side-step the problem by using the VGA D-SUB connection, I prefer the quality of DVI.
I'm just waiting for my new replacement monitor to arrive now.

and I have no problem at all. No more blink
Maybe an incompatibility between the 2005fp and my video card
or maybe a defective monitor...
Will RMA...
UPDATE 2005-9-4.: I received a new 2005FPW and still have flickers.
I tried with another video card and no more blink.
Like I said maybe an incompatibility or a defective video card.
I`ll keep my DELL monitor ;-)
