I'm experiencing the same problem. Have you found a resolution anywhere else. There is no clone option available or "nView Display mode" to be found in that panel.
I have looked in other message boards, but have not posted in them, i sent several emails to Dell and all were adressing the wrong things, then they emailed me to tell me they can't talk to me anymore becuase i am a Canadian customer, I was told to call the support line but I havnn't done that yet
I believe you have the correct S-video cable. If it is the case, check if you have the correct video driver. The driver should provide you with "Display wizard". This should navigate you in a very easy way to adjust single or double monitor, clone mode, even resolution can be set differently for laptop and TV. good luck
Connect TV with PC. Switch on TV, then PC. Click with right mouse button on the Desktop. You should see nVidia Digital Display option. Click on it and you should see the Display Wizard mentioned previously.
When i click the display wizard the settings box closes and nothign else comes up, i have tried it numerous times, after reboot with tv everything and it always juts closes the nVidia settings and opens nothing else. And to the other message there is no force Tv detection located anywhere Any more ideas?
I think the problem is using the s video you need a adaptor that plugs into your laptop that converts the 7 pin male to 4 pin female and also converts to RCA audio and video.This is a link to go to http://www.showmecables.com/estore/store/showProducts.asp?category_id=139 select the adaptor part# CLAV026 this is the exact adaptor that shiped with my inspiron XPS which i can't find in the dell site.Just using a regular s-video cable will not work .It has to be converted from 7 pin male to 4 pin female then you can use a standerd s-video or RCA from the adaptor to your TV.

It is not obvious from the message what cable does chin_chin51 have. As far as I am concerned, I have bought my cable in a normal supermarket and it does work from the very beginning. It is actually SCART connector with two cables going from it. One is to plug audio through headphones connector, the second one (and I must agree with the previous message, it can be the point) is S video connector with 4 pins.
i just found my video cable product number here are the details
CB-ATI-TVOUTATI ADAPTER TV-OUT CABLE FOR RADEON CARDS P/N 6110007900
my old computer that ran the tv-out was an ATI radeon, could this be the problem? and can anyone get me specific details so i can buy the one that works. i would really not liek to order one from dell and would rather be able to go to radio shack and pick one up
Tthis is the adaptor you need it is the same exact adaptor that i got from dell with my XPS laptop and i also tried it on a 1100 and it works.Put your pointer over audio/video products onthe left then select s-video scroll down to adaptor # CLAV026
http://www.showmecables.com/estore/store/showProducts.asp?category_id=139 I have the dell part # DS/N-044CTV-4804-468-2564 and DP/N044CTV C/O CN REV A00 Theese are the two numbers on the adaptor itself.But good luck trying to locate it on the dell site or by calling dell it seems it doesn exist. But it ships with the 9100 and XPS so i know it works on the 9100,XPS and 1100 s-video in the back of my machines.

I have a 5160 and have gotten a B&W image on the TV, I have tried toggling both TV output modes (of course NTSC) s-video and also component video (or whatever the wizard screen calls it). In one mode there is b&w, in the other mode, there is not TV output.
I just can't get color output (I believe this is because the 7-pin output is doing the 4pin S-Video connector output instead of the yellow RCA video output).
Do I have the wrong cable? (7-pin s-video ==> 1 RCA video)

Temporary solution I have found to most of these problems for my computer... I am waiting to see if it works for other people too...
