Inspiron 5100 video and bios upgrade option

Question

I've searched through this forum and several people mentioned that an upgrade to a Radeon Mobility 9000 is possible.  I was able to acquire one.  A couple questions I have are:   1)  I noticed a couple of threads saying that the bios had to be upgraded to A31 or A28.  How do you do this?   2)  Does anyone know where I can get the driver for the Radeon 9000?  From the Dell site, it seems the only downloadable one for the Inspiron 5100 is from the Radeon 7500. a) Download the bios A31 version from your 5100 download page. search for flash bios and look for the A31(not A32). Be aware that a bad flash of the bios will turn your 5100 into a doorstop, so be careful.   b) The radeon 9000 driver is on the 5150 download page since it is a 5150 card, not a 5100.

Just curious, what would happen if I used the A32 bios? Wouldn't the A32 contain all the fixes from the A31?

Also, looking at the notes of the A31 and A32 bios, it mentions the video bios in reference to the Radeon M7500. Would there be a problem with the M9000 installed?

the A32 implements some weird fan configuration that i dont recommend. Your laptop will run hotter if you update to A32, so just update to A31. The m9000 should work with A31 just fine.
