Try removing the battery and plugging in the power supply. Will the computer start? In any event, you either have a bad battery or a bad charging system. You need to call Dell Tech Support immediately. You have 21 days from the date of invoice to return the system if it is a lemon or if you want it repaired or need new parts, Dell Tech Support are the only ones that can authorize a repair or replacement parts.

well if it is a dimension forum, then why does it say inspiron gen hardware at the top?? Also, why is the forum riddled with laptop questions if it's really the desktop forum? duh.

I don't know what your screen reads but mine says Inspiron - General Hardware at the top. The Dimension forum is elsewhere.
