You need to install the video card drivers into the system. It is not the monitor that loads the resolution and colors within Windows. If you need information on loading the video card drivers you can take a look at the Dimension Video Forum.
Do a google search, for that Gateway monitors driver, or go to Gateway.com and see if they have a driver site. Microsoft normally has a very large driver base and will just use one of them for your gateway monitor. If you still cannot find a dedicated driver for that monitor on your own, get back to us on the exact model number of that monitor and its size.

What video card do you have installed on your system ? Is it a true dedicated video card in your PCI slot, or are you using the integrated video ?

Well, I got the Dell from my mom. She sent everything she had for it.
But, I didn't see any drivers for the monitor. Could I download the driver from somewhere?
