Cannot install network drivers on Inspiron 8600

Question

Hi,   I have Inspiron 8600 laptop with intergrated ethernet controller and mini-pci wireless network card. The problem is, my Windows Professional won't install the drivers, neither the wired nor the wireless. I have tried to install the drivers on the cd that came with the laptop, it completes install but it doesn't seem to work. The newest drivers on this website doesn't work either. Tried to manually install the driver but then it says... 'The specified location does not contain information about your hardware.' Tripple checked everything.... Have you installed the chipset drivers?  If you go into Device Manager, which devices are listed there as having a problem?   Steve

Under Other devices are: * Ethernet Controller on PCI bus 2, device 0 * Network Controller on PCI bus 2, device 3 Both have the device status: Drivers for thisdevice are not installed (code 28)   Tried to install Intel Mobile Chipset, Driver, and then again the network drivers, but no luck....

If you initially tried to install the drivers for the network adapters before installing the chipset drivers, you might need to go into Device Manager, remove the devices, reboot, and reinstall the drivers for the network adapters.
