The only major difference is the 15.4" wide LCD on the 8500. From the looks of your system specs I would suggest that the price to purchase a new laptop would outweigh the technology gain. You have a nice machine. Personally, I would wait for the next generation of machines said to be due after the first of the year.

I second markkelm's answer, stay with the 8200, much better imho than the 8500,
