I'd go with the Linksys models only becasue I have used thme nearly exclusively for the past 5 years. Ideally, you would want a wireless router for your gateway and then a USB adapter for the TiVO. Setup the encyrption correctly for the network and this shoudn;'t be that difficult.
But see I already have a dell true mobile 2300 wireless router, which works great for my laptop. No wires. I don't have to replace the one I have and get a linksys to use the linksys adapters do I?
Right now I'm just adding it on so that I can record my TV shows by typing my choices in my computer. I will still watch them on the TV. But also I want to listen to Rhapsody (music) on the TV and show my pictures on the TV, which TiVo has very easy instructions for, if I can just get the right adapter. TiVo recommends 9 wireless adapters for my particular TiVo. Some are lynksis and some are d-link. You simply plug it into the usb port at the back of the unit. I am wondering if it will matter what kind of router I have on my computer. My computer is in the office, so I can't use a wired adapter, it's too far away.
I don't want to buy one and then have to send it back. Any advice? Dell customer service couldn't help.
