berry053,

You'll get a better response if you post your log in the Virus/Spyware Information and Removal board. That's where the malware removal experts expect to find HijackThis logs.

Thanks for the tip! I'm going to post there too (someone let me know if it isn't okay to post to two forums). I'm reticent to take my posting off of here, though, since I really feel my issue has something to do with Windows XP Service Pack 2, since my computer was working fine last night before SP2, but doesn't work as soon as SP2 got installed.
Also, I figured out a back-door way to open HijackThis version 1.99.1 and generated a log file which is below. Maybe someone will find it useful. I've once again replaced all instances of "a*s" with "WHATEVER". Thanks again!

Help I am an idiot computer owner perhaps being blonde isnt helping but my goodness, i found in my registry, which i came across by mistake, and found a note saying drwatson and my computer will go to standby constantly and is running at a snails pace.  I now dont know what to do and it will have to be explained to me like I am a 4 yr old who only plays with lego and not electronic toys. Thanks.

desertalamode,

The thread you have posted in was started by another user. Your problem is almost certainly different, and deserves a thread of its own. If you think your system has a virus or spyware, you're in the right board. Without knowing any details about the problem, it's difficult to guess what might be wrong.

In your new message, please describe your system, including the Dell model, operating system it has, and the amount of memory that is installed in it. If the problem began suddenly, please describe any changes (hardware or software) that were made to the system just before the problem began.

Above all, don't reply to someone else's message. Instead, create a "new message", so your problem gets the attention it deserves.
