well, If dell is doing the right thing, I would give them another chance, You got this much time and money invested, as long as they are taking care of you.
I have had almost the same problem with my Inspiron 9300. Out of the box it worked for a couple of hours then the keyboard went dead. However, I did notice that if I squezzed the case base at the top right, then the keyboard would go nuts and loads of beeps would be heard. I called Dell and they said it sounded like a loose keyboard. They took it away, replaced the keyboard and sent it back ... guess what ... within a day exactly the same problem. So, I'm just about to call Dell again and get them to fix it ... again. This will be the last time though, if it's still not fixed when I get it back I'll be asking for my money back.

As with any mass produced product, problems are going to arise, we should only be so lucky in life, that this computer problem is the only down side to the day, week or month, in the grand theme of things, its really no big deal, and dell is taken care of your issues, we should all be so l lucky

And I did ... and it came back within 48 hrs (system board replaced) .. and to my amazement I find that the CD/DVD drive is broken!
I'm returning this. This was my first experience with Dell and it will be my last.
